Landscape Lighting Simplified: Power and Receptacles Made Easy

Landscape Lighting Blog Post

For electrical contractors, outdoor projects bring a unique set of challenges. From powering landscape lighting to installing receptacles in wet environments, contractors need solutions that balance safety, code compliance, and long-term durability. In these applications, the Landscape Receptacle Post (P/N LSPB-RECEP) plays an essential role in delivering reliable power and illumination.

EPCO understands the need for contractor-friendly products that simplify installation without compromising performance. This solution was designed with those priorities in mind, offering a streamlined way to bring both lighting and power to exterior spaces.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Made of 3-inch PVC, the post integrates a 19 in³ internal wiring compartment and junction box. Unlike hollow-pipe designs, it can handle two 20 AMP circuits, a variety of outdoor applications while meeting code requirements.

Safety and Code Compliance Built In

Every installation outdoors requires confidence in safety and compliance. The Landscape Receptable Post is UL Listed as a Luminaire Fixture Fitting and meets the latest National Electric Code standards (Articles 314.15, 314.16 (A)(2), and 314.17 (B)). It’s compatible with 120V GFCI receptacles and NEMA Type 3R weatherproof covers (not included), ensuring proper protection against the elements.

Time-Saving Installation for Contractors

Time and efficiency matter on every jobsite, and this product was designed to simplify installation from start to finish. By eliminating the need for EMT, conduit connectors, and separate weatherproof boxes, contractors can cut down on both labor and material costs while reducing the number of parts and steps required to complete an installation.

Beyond cost savings, the post addresses challenges electricians often face in the field:

  • Angled bottom<: Outdoor cable runs rarely match up perfectly on site. The angled entry design allows UF Cable or Conduit to enter at different depths, giving contractors more flexibility during layout and minimizing cable congestion when multiple luminaires need to be tied in. This saves time otherwise spent wrestling with tight, overcrowded conduit entries.
  • Slanted top: Water entry is one of the most common long-term issues in outdoor electrical installations. The sloped top surface prevents rain or irrigation water from pooling, protecting conductors and splices inside the post and helping ensure installations remain NEC-compliant over time.
  • Uni-Stabilizer™ base: Posts shifting in the ground due to frost and thaw changes can cause alignment problems, strain on conduit, or even damage to connected fixtures. The Uni-Stabilizer™ secures the post firmly in the soil, resisting seasonal ground movement and maintaining a professional, stable installation for years to come.
  • Separator Disk™ and SpliceCap™: Inside the post, splicing is made faster and safer. The Separator Disk creates a clear, organized space for conductors, while the non-metallic SpliceCap™ provides a reliable, code-compliant connection point. Together, they create an integrated junction box that not only simplifies splicing but also ensures compatibility with most outdoor luminaires on the market, giving contractors flexibility in fixture selection.

Every feature is designed for real-world conditions, helping electricians install faster, pass inspections confidently, and deliver durable results.

Durability in Demanding Conditions

Outdoor installations demand rugged products. The PVC construction is resistant to shattering, corrosion, and UV damage, making it suitable for wet locations and long-term use. The post is designed to support UL Listed luminaires up to 12 pounds and 12 inches tall, giving contractors flexibility in fixture selection.

The EPCO Advantage for Outdoor Projects

Building on the proven reliability of Landscape SplicePost (P/N LSPB)Landscape LightPost (P/N LLPN25B), this post expands options for contractors who need durable, easy-to-install solutions. By simplifying installation and ensuring long-term performance, EPCO products empower contractors to deliver high-quality results on residential and commercial projects.

Choosing this solution means choosing efficiency, safety, and reliability for outdoor power and lighting applications. View the full range of landscape lighting products designed for contractors here.
