Job Title: Production Supervisor

Compensation: $34-$35 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager of the company. This position is responsible for overseeing the production teams, multiple work cells, and product lines that require assembly and packaging within the EPCO distribution production area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This position is responsible for:

  • Supervising 15-20 employees daily; includes recognition, training, hiring, discipline, assigning duties, etc.
  • Reviewing incoming orders, analyzing the availability of raw materials, and planning production using the ERP tools available to ensure daily commitments are met.
  • Coordinating timely material procurement for production builds.
  • Training employees as needed on work-related duties.
  • Working collectively with all team members to maintain a positive work environment and exceptional team morale.
  • Evaluating the production staff needs of each work cell and working with HR to ensure staffing pars are fulfilled.
  • Maintaining inventory, equipment, and tool levels.
  • Maintaining all required safety standards while acting as an ambassador for the company's health and safety committee.
  • Reporting employee work incidents and injuries and coordinating with HR to manage all related processes.
  • Managing daily labor and time cards using ADP Time and Attendance.
  • Monitoring employee attendance and time-off requests using the ADP Workforce Now HRIS system.
  • Conducting employee reviews promptly using the ADP Workforce Now HRIS system.
  • Acting as a liaison for key departments involved in the order process and keeping customers abreast of order statuses.
  • Processing order changes.
  • Maintaining material shortage logs.
  • Managing various production reports.
  • Tracking actual production performance against planned performance and analyzing the variances.
  • Facilitating communication and up-to-date work progress across functional teams to assure timely attainment of project milestones.
  • Working with engineering to develop strong designs for manufacturability.
  • Interacting with team members at all levels of the organization to communicate relevant information related to the production department and processes.
  • Ensuring BOMs (Bill of Material)are accurate. - work with operations to make adjustments where needed.
  • Working with operations to create new part numbers.
  • Conducting 5S projects for each responsible area on a bi-annual basis.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and all associated written project documentation.
  • Attending all quality team meetings to better understand discrepancies and prevention solutions.
  • Leading all production team meetings.
  • Attending sales meetings as required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of production planning and supervision.
  • Experience using 5S methods to maintain a production floor that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Excel and Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess excellent analytical skills, and be customer-oriented.
  • Must have the ability to develop and motivate teams of people.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiatives to drive projects to completion with partial to minimal directions.
  • Must be able to work well independently and effectively within a group.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Requires the ability to use a computer, telephone, and basic office equipment.
  • Daily lift push/pull/carry requirements vary depending on the workflow; they will not typically exceed 50 lbs on a regular, daily, but not constant basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum education requirements-high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7+ years manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Practices (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S)
  • Green Belt Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suites Software, including Outlook & Excel
  • Technical degree or degree in manufacturing helpful
