Job Title: Inside Sales Representative

Reports To: Sales Manager

Exempt / Non-Exempt: Salaried Non-Exempt

Compensation: $40,000 to $45,000 Annually (plus commission)

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing exceptional service to EPCO customers and agents. Provide prompt and accurate product information related to pricing, product features, and delivery. Utilize Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) to proactively follow-up on quotes and projects. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.

This role is not a telework position - requires working in the office at our Minnetonka, MN headquarters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Working with manufacturer's sales representatives from agencies and providing them with quotes and shipment information.
  • Updating and creating formal computerized quotes.
  • Entering sales orders.
  • Proactively calling sales agents and customers to follow-up on quotations, projects, sales trends, distributor stocking plans, and marketing promotions.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) to document activities, communicate with the sales team, and follow-up on sales opportunities.
  • Responding to customer requests to return merchandise by completing the initial RMA paperwork and sending appropriate copies to the customer.
  • Assisting electrical distributors and communicating updates or information with sales reps.
  • Providing prompt and accurate product information related to pricing, product features, and delivery.
  • Calling customers on orders may be short of making freight terms for "add-ons" and "less than" case quantities.
  • Backing-up other inside sales representatives on the telephone, with order entry, etc.
  • Additional responsibilities include special projects, the independent pursuit of potential sales, attending sales training, seminars, trade shows, and any other duties required of the role by management.

  • Knowledge and of general sales practices.
  • Ability to learn and be familiar with its overall product line, pricing practices, and relevant aspects of the electrical industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to multi-task & work well under pressure.
  • Ability to assess a situation, draw a valid conclusion, and make sound recommendations.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No direct reports to supervise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • 4 years of experience working in customer service and/or inside sales.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • The ability to multi-task & work well under pressure.
  • Ability to assess a situation, draw a valid conclusion, and make sound recommendations.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and data entry experience.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Proficient (and previous working related experience) using all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience using an ERP system (SYSPRO) a plus.
  • Experience using a CRM System (Microsoft Dynamics) a plus.
  • Experience working as a team and independently.
  • Experience in the electrical and lighting industry a plus.
  • Previous experience working for an electrical distributor/contractor a plus.
  • Degree in sales and marketing fields a plus.
  • Desire to learn and excel in the inside sales role.

Separate work stations/cubes are set up for each inside sales employee to spend most of the day working out of. Requires the ability to work well with more than one department and individuals in a variety of positions.
