Job Title: 2nd Shift Inventory Clerk – Material Handler: PDU Cables Division (pducables.com)

Report to: Shipping Supervisor

Exempt / Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Position is responsible for all material movement for PDU manufacturing. Function involves receiving and stocking of material into its designated location and ensure that defined locations are stocked to maximum levels, inventory counts are accurate in the inventory system and needed inventory is tracked and supplied to production when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.
  • Requires the ability to work successfully under minimal supervision.
  • Fulfill production needs using a priority sequence based on production schedule or urgency.
  • Fulfill department inventory needs.
  • Put away stock from production.
  • Put away received product.
  • Pull production kits per manufacturing schedule.
  • Perform inventory Cycle Counts and Location Audits to further ensure inventory accuracy and maintain records of any inaccuracies for use in the continuous improvement process.
  • Coordinate with shipping, manufacturing, and purchasing in order to resolve system or procedural issues.
  • Work closely communicating with PDU production and purchasing daily requirements.
  • Communicate (via email) quantity adjustments to purchasing as needed in order to maintain an accurate inventory.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Requires a working knowledge of the company’s enterprise resource management system.
  • Knowledge of standard inventory management practices.
  • Must perform basic Microsoft Office functions of copy, paste and basic formulas in Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff and management.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate industrial equipment including, but not limited to a forklift and pallet jack.
  • The ability to assess a situation, draw a valid conclusion and make sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Able to effectively use basic computer software systems.
  • Able to operate forklifts and or pallet jacks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 lbs on a regular, daily, but not constant basis.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, lift, push, pull and move about the facility.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate industrial equipment inclusive of a forklift and/or pallet jack.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a minimum of 24 months previous experience working in a similar position dealing with production, manufacturing, and inventory.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will be performed in a warehouse/plant type environment.
  • Work 2nd shift starting at 12:30pm daily.
  • Responsibilities may require the performance of duties outside the warehouse, but exposure to the elements will be minimal.
  • Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while performing job duties that require the use of PPE.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties that may require more than one employee’s participation in order to complete the task. Will also be required to work well independently and with minimal supervision.
